1. Who we are
Fako Farm (“we”) publishes farm management software — a mobile app (Android/iOS) and web console — for livestock and crop farms in Africa and their diaspora. Contact: privacy@fakofarm.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account : phone number (sign-in ID), name, preferred language, and farm role (owner, team leader, worker).
- Farm data : livestock batches, crops, daily logs, sales, purchases, prices, expense requests, and approvals — entered by your team to manage your farm.
- Photos : supporting documents (receipts, proof of expenses) and field photos you choose to attach. Stored privately and accessed through signed, time-limited links.
- Audit log : each action is timestamped and cryptographically chained (SHA-256) to ensure the integrity of the history.
- Technical data : an app-generated device ID, crash and performance reports (Sentry), and access logs.
We do not collect your GPS location continuously, your contacts, or your SMS messages. No data is sold to third parties. No advertising.
3. Why we process data (legal bases)
- Performance of the contract : providing the farm management service.
- Legitimate interest : security, fraud prevention, and reliability (crash reports).
- Legal obligations : billing and accounting.
4. Offline use and synchronization
The app works offline first : your entries are saved on your device (Android storage encryption, a session protected by the hardware keychain and a biometric/PIN lock), then synchronized to our servers when connectivity returns.
5. Where your data is stored and who can access it
- Hosting : secure Supabase cloud infrastructure (database encrypted at rest, TLS in transit).
- Isolation : each farm is isolated at database level (row-level security). No farm can read another farm’s data.
- Data processors : Supabase (hosting), Sentry (crash reports), Stripe/CinetPay (subscription payments — your banking details never pass through our servers).
- Within your farm : access depends on role — finances are restricted to the owner; workers enter field data.
6. Retention period
Your farm’s data is retained while your account is active. After cancellation, it is deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where legal obligations apply (billing).
